Case study spotlight
From Attendance Risk to Youth Leadership
A year ago, one lower-secondary student entered our learning labs after repeated absences, low classroom participation, and limited caregiver contact with the school. Staff built a support plan with the family, paired the student with a peer mentor, and added transport assistance for after-school sessions.
Challenge: Inconsistent attendance and high disengagement during the autumn term.
Intervention: Weekly tutoring, caregiver check-ins, and referral support through our family navigation program.
Outcome: Attendance stabilized above 90%, academic confidence improved, and the student joined the Youth Leadership Fellowship.
